Upcoming festivals and entry opening dates.

With our 2026/27 festival season getting underway, I wanted to send through a reminder of the upcoming festival dates and entry opening dates.

We have a huge number of competition entries this year, so we really appreciate everyone keeping organised and making a note of the dates below. Please do keep an eye on the relevant platforms and festival information, as unfortunately we simply won’t be able to send individual reminders every time an entry opens.

BellaDanza Events - Robertsbridge

  • 16th & 17th January 2027

  • 23rd & 24th January 2027

Entries are already open via Play & Perform, so please ensure you enter any dances you wish your DC to compete in.

Royal Tunbridge Wells Dance Festival

  • Saturday 13th – Sunday 21st February 2027

Entries open 25th October.

I need to submit all DC entries for this festival, so please email me with the subject RTWDF and include:

  • Your dancer’s full name

  • A list of all dances you would like them to compete in

Please note that group dances are compulsory for this festival.

Hastings Musical Festival

The proposed dates are:

  • 28th February, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 14th, 15th & 16th March 2027

Entries open 1st November via Play & Perform.

Again, group dances are compulsory for this festival.

Please make sure you have these dates in your diaries! With such a large competition team this year, organisation and commitment from everyone is really important.

Hair & Make-Up

As we have lots of new faces joining our competition team this year, I’ve included a step-by-step DC competition make-up guide to help everyone.

As always, we expect hair to be immaculate and stage-ready. Hair should be discussed with the teacher who choreographed the dance or with me prior.

 Costumes

A little reminder that as soon as costumes are chosen and delivered, please bring them into class for us to see and check. This allows us to make sure everything is correct and appropriate, and gives us the opportunity to discuss whether anything needs to be added, altered or embellished. We can also discuss how we would like the hair to be styled to complement the costume and overall artistic direction of the piece.

A few costumes went out last weekend that, unfortunately, we teachers hadn’t seen beforehand, so please make sure you bring them into class.

As outlined in our Competition Team Policy, which can be found on our website, overall presentation and artistic direction is at the teacher’s discretion. This includes costumes, hair, make-up and any additional styling.

DC Team Kit

Team jackets can be purchased through Squad.

We ask that all DC dancers competing represent the school in their DC kit, so that we are presented as a team and represented beautifully wherever we compete.

Dance World Cup

Dance World Cup entries will be opening very soon. We’ll be in touch with further details regarding 2027 and what we would like to enter once we have more information.

There is a lot happening this season, and we’re so excited to see our dancers take to the stage! Thank you all for helping us keep everything organised - it genuinely makes such a difference when we have this many dancers and entries to coordinate.

If you have any questions about any of the above, please just let me know.

Miss A xx
